APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Erasmus+ students interested in studying in the Technological Educational Institute of Athens (TEI Athens) should send the Learning Agreement to the International and Public Relations Office at the beginning of the semester prior to their studies in the Institution.

These papers are signed by the Academic Supervisor of the relevant department, as well as by the Institutional Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Program for TEI of Athens. Both student and home institution are informed with an e-mail for the acceptance of the student and then, the studentĒs learning agreement is posted back to the home institution, as an official confirmation of acceptance.
Please make sure that you have received a confirmation of acceptance, before your students reach our Institution.
StudentĒs learning agreement should be sent to TEI of Athens by the home institution, duly completed and signed, no later than the 31st of May, for students wishing to study in TEI for the winter semester, and no later than the 15th of November, for students wishing to study in TEI for the spring semester.

Winter semester starts in the beginning of October, so Erasmus+ students should report to the International and Public Relations Office between 20th - 30th September (Ag. Spyridonos and Milou 1 – 12243, Egaleo, Athens).

Spring semester starts on the first days of March, so Erasmus+ students should report to the International and Public Relations Office between 20th – 28th February.


STUDENTSĒ ACCOMMODATION

All Erasmus+ students should arrange their accommodation on their own. Upon their arrival, students can find cheap furnished apartments in the vicinity of TEI Athens or in the center of Athens. Since academic year 2007-2008 the ESA group of students of TEI of Athens has been created to help all incoming students with accomodation research as well as to help them solve any other problem. Incoming students who wish to have a card for the gym should bring with them one photo and a valid document in English from their generalist doctor or their cardiologist, certifying that they are in good health and they can participate in sports activities.
For those who havenĒt brought a certification with them, they should visit a Greek hospital and be examined for:- An electrocardiogram- A general blood test - A SGOT, SGPT testCertifications should be submitted to the Erasmus Office of TEI of Athens.

TRANSPORTATION

AIRPORT - CENTER OF ATHENS

7days/week, 24 hours/day you can use the bus line X95 Syntagma square – Athens Airport- EXPRESS, from the airport to the centre of the city.
Tickets cost 5,00 ? (reduced ticket costs 2,50 ?) and can be purchased at the airportĒs ticket kiosk
.


CENTER
OF ATHENS – TEI ATHENS

Next to Metaxourgeio metro station, you can use the lines A15 and B15. You can ask the bus driver to let you off at the station “TEI of Athens”. Standard ticket costs 1,20 ? (reduced ticket costs 0,60 ?) and the duration of the trip is approximately 20 minutes.

CATERING

TEI of Athens provides all Erasmus+ students with free meals in our restaurants (2 meals/day, 7 days/week for as long as they study in TEI Athens). There is one restaurant in the premises of TEI (Aghiou Spyridonos), and a second one in the center of Athens, in Vathis Square (Kritis 10 street).


GENERAL INFORMATION

If you have a mobile phone handset, bring it with you. You can buy a Greek pre-paid phone number and recharge for 10 ? at least, if needed.

All incoming Erasmus+ students should first come to the Office of International and Public Relations, in order to be registered. Each student should bring with him/her:
  • 4 passport photos
  • Student card of the home institution
  • European Health Insurance Card
  • Passport or ID
Students are provided with the registrationĒs document which they have to submit to the relevant Department so as to obtain a student card and get the discounts for the transportation means. The second document provided to them must be taken at the Student Support Office of TEI for the issuing of the food card. Furthermore, a statement of arrival is faxed or sent by normal post to the studentsĒ home institution.


LINGUISTIC / CULTURAL COURSE

All incoming Erasmus+ students are offered lessons in Greek Language, which also include cultural issues. The studentĒs competence and the credits obtained will be mentioned in the studentĒs certificate (Transcript of Records).


EVALUATION / CERTIFICATES / CREDITS

All incoming Erasmus+ students, upon their registration on the International & Public Relations Office are given a colored booklet with their personal data on the outside and space for the courses, grades, ects etc. on the inside. As soon as all courses (including exams/evaluation) finish, students should ensure that the tutor of each course has written down and signed their grade. After having completed all spaces, students bring both the colored booklet and the Student Card of TEI Athens to the International and Public Relations Office, where relevant statements and certificates will be issued.The International and Public Relations Office will send the original certificates by fax and post to the home institution of the student, while copies of these will be sent to the studentĒs home address.
