Dear members,
Please find attached the EOC note on a presentation about the “Roadmap to FP9” given by Kurt Vandenberghe, Director of Directorate A in DG RTD.
The event was organised by the IGLO – Informal Group of RTD Liaison
Offices in Brussels, on 10 January 2017. The attendance was strictly
limited to the staff of the IGLO offices, to enable a higher degree of
confidentiality. Chatham House rules applied to the meeting.
The presentation was structured around three topics:
1. Horizon 2020 Interim Evaluation - The
Interim Evaluation will have an impact not only on the preparation of
FP9 but also on the programming for the last 3 years of Horizon 2020
(2018-2020)
2. Lamy high level group report on on maximising impact of EU Research and Innovation Programmes – the
report will be presented in a big stakeholders’ conference organised by
the Commission end of June 2017 and the Commission would like to gather
as many stakeholders as possible
3. Challenges in designing FP9 - remarks on co-design and what are the possibilities for action for stakeholders – cohesion,
defence research, innovation, public outreach, a more transectoral and
transdisciplinary FP9 are the main challenges that Commission is facing
in the design of FP9; the Commission welcomes stakeholders’ input
through public consultations, work with ERAC and upcoming stakeholders
conferences in the Member States, foresight exercise.
The
message was to mobilise our stakeholders for the co-designing of the
FP9 as the Commission needs input in issues like prioritisation,
transdisciplinarity, defence research, etc.
I will be at your disposal for further information or clarifications.
Kind regards,
Rosemary
