Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme –
“Action grants to support national or transnational projects on non-discrimination and Roma integration” - REC-RDIS-DISC-AG-2016
Objectives and description
A
new call for proposals has been published under the Rights, Equality
and Citizenship Programme 2014-2020 within the Pillar “European
Citizenship Rights, Anti-discrimination, Preventing and Combating
Intolerance”.
The call “Action grants to support national or transnational projects on non-discrimination and Roma integration” (call identifier: REC-RDIS-DISC-AG-2016) aims to to
support activities which tackle at least one of the following groups at
risk of discrimination: racial or ethnic minorities, persons with
disabilities, older/younger people, religious minorities and LGBTI
people.
The priority areas of this call for proposals are:
1. Fighting against discrimination based on sexual orientation in society and promoting the rights of LGBTI people.
Priority will be given to awareness raising and dissemination projects
in the Member States with particular needs and lower levels of social
acceptance of LGBTI people. Cooperation of national authorities,
equality bodies and non-governmental organisations is strongly
encouraged.
2. Diversity management in the public and private sector:
identification of existing practices, measurement of diversity
management benefits, and awareness-raising. The proposed activities may
be linked to the launch and implementation of Diversity Charters.
3. Roma:
activities aiming to raise awareness and combat harmful stereotypes of
Roma and supporting thereby their integration into mainstream society.
Identification, implementation and exchange of good practices in
addressing the most urgent challenges in the area of fighting
discrimination and antigypsyism, especially fighting segregation in
education, and promoting the empowerment of Roma youth and their active
involvement in the process of Roma integration, including through the
capacity building of civil society active at the local level.
4. To raise awareness about intergenerational solidarity and non-discrimination on the basis of age (in particular of young people).
Priority will be given to fund at least one project in each of the above-mentioned four priority areas.
Eligible activities
This call will fund activities on:
· training of professionals;
· mutual
learning, exchange of good practices, cooperation, including
identifying best practices which may be transferable to other
participating countries;
· dissemination
and awareness raising activities (including at local level), such as
seminars, conferences, campaigns or social media and press activities.
Eligible participants
The applicants and partners must be public entities or private organisations or international organisations.
Organisations which are profit-oriented must submit applications in
partnership with public entities or private non-profit-oriented
organisations.
Eligible countries are the EU Member States, including their overseas departments, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
The application can be national or transnational.
Funding conditions and duration
The indicative available budget under this call for proposals is EUR 4,1 million. The EU grant applied for cannot be lower than EUR 150 000 or higher than EUR 500 000.
However, under the 1st priority “Fighting against discrimination based on sexual orientation in society and promoting the rights of LGBTI people”,
the Commission envisages to fund several smaller projects with an
overall indicative budget of 2 200 000 EUR out of the total budget. The
cost of a project should therefore amount to approximately EUR
150.000-200.000.
The grant cannot constitute more than 80% of overall eligible project costs.
The duration of the projects should not exceed 24 months.
Deadline of proposals' submission
Applications must be submitted no later than 21 March 2017 by 17:00 (Central European Time)
Applicants must submit their proposal only via the electronic transmission system.
