Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme - “Support national or transnational projects on non-discrimination and Roma integration” – REC-RDIS-DISC-AG-2017

 

Objectives and description


The Directorate General for Justice has published a  call for proposals under the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme 2014-2020, with the specific topic: “Support national or transnational projects on non-discrimination and Roma integration” – REC-RDIS-DISC-AG-2017.

 

This call will aim to co-fund national or transnational projects tackling at least one of the following grounds of discrimination of Art. 19 TFEU: racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation.

 

They should aim at:

·         Fighting against discrimination based on sexual orientation in society and promoting the rights of LGBTI people.

·         Promoting diversity management in the public and private sector: identification of existing practices, measurement of diversity management benefits, and awareness-raising. The proposed activities may be linked to the launch and implementation of Diversity Charters.

·         Fighting against discrimination of Roma through: activities aiming to raise awareness and combat harmful stereotypes of Roma and thereby supporting their integration into mainstream society; identify and exchange good practices in fighting discrimination against Roma and antigypsyism, in particular in education and housing and promoting the empowerment of Roma (youth and women) as well as their active involvement in the process of Roma integration.

·         Raising awareness about intergenerational solidarity and non-discrimination on the basis of age (in particular of young people).

 

Priority will be given to fund at least one project in each of the above-mentioned four priority areas, subject to eligibility and reaching sufficient quality threshold under award criteria.

 

Eligible activities


This call will fund activities on:

·         data collection and survey; monitoring the implementation of non-discrimination legislation;

·         training of professionals;

·         mutual learning, exchange of good practices, cooperation, including identifying best practices which may be transferable to other participating countries;

·         dissemination and awareness raising activities (including at local level), such as seminars, conferences, campaigns or social media and press activities.

 

Eligible participants - Minimum conditions


Applicant/s and co-applicants must be a public entity or a private organisation, duly established in one of the countries participating in the Programme (EU Member States, including their overseas departments, Iceland and Lichtenstein), or an international organisation. Organisations which are profit-oriented must submit applications in partnership with public entities or private non-profit-oriented organisations.

The application can be either national or transnational and must involve at least two organisations (applicant and partner).

Funding conditions and duration


The overall budget for this topic amounts to EUR 3,5 million. The EU grant applied for cannot be lower than EUR 75 000 or higher than EUR 500 000.

 

The maximum possible rate of co-financing of the eligible costs is 80%.

 

The duration of the projects should not exceed 24 months.


Deadline of proposals' submission


The deadline for the submission of application is 9 November 2017, 17:00 Brussels time.

 

The application has to be submitted by making use of the Participant Portal.
