Horizon 2020 – Societal Challenges - “Digitising and Transforming European Industry and Services: Automated Road Transport”

Objective and description


New topics have been opened for submission of proposals under the Horizon 2020 Programme within the pillar “Societal Challenges”, under the work programme “Smart, Green and integrated Transport”, within the call for proposals “Digitising and Transforming European Industry and Services: Automated Road Transport” – H2020-DT-ART-2018-2019-2020.

 

The overall objective of this call is to promote a wide market introduction of highly automated driving systems. The call will focus on large-scale demonstrations to test the performance and safety of innovative highly automated driving systems for passenger cars, efficient freight transport operations and shared mobility services in urban areas. Furthermore the changing role of the driver and how to account for it by human centred design of automated vehicles will be addressed.

 

The call for proposals refers to the following topics:

 

o    Subtopic 1) Assessment of impacts, benefits and costs of connected, cooperative and automated driving systems (Research and Innovation Action).

o    Subtopic 2) Networking activities to support connected, cooperative and automated driving (Coordination and support action).

 

Eligible applicants


The topics DT-ART-01-2018 and DT-ART-02-2018 Sub-topic 1 refer to “Research and Innovation actions”. For “Research and Innovation actions” the eligible partners are: At least three legal entities established in a different Member State or associated country. All three legal entities shall be independent of each other.

 

The topic DT-ART-02-2018 Bub-topic 2 refer to “Coordination and support actions”. For “Coordination and support actions”, the eligible partner could be at least one legal entity established in an EU Member State or Horizon 2020 associated country.

 

Budget


Funding rates:

RIA Research and Innovation actions: 100%.

CSA Coordination and support actions: 100%.

o    Subtopic 1) Assessment of impacts, benefits and costs of connected, cooperative and automated driving systems
Research and Innovation Action: 6,000,000 EUR.

o    Subtopic 2) Networking activities to support connected, cooperative and automated driving

Coordination and Support Action: 3,000,000 EUR.

 

Deadline for proposals’ submission


The deadline for all topics under this call for proposals is 4 April 2018, 17:00 (Brussels local time).
