Work Experience [students]

Work Experience:

The last (eighth) semester of studies is devoted to paid vocational training, which is an integral part of the educational process. A pre-requisite for commencing vocational training is to have passed all specialty courses. Students are placed in an organized information unit (library, archive, museum, etc) which has at least one information professional (librarian, archivist, etc) prepared to undertake supervision. The ratio for larger units where many students are placed is one professional to three trainees. The Department has organized and constantly updates a register of organizations wishing to have students for work experience; taking into account that the organizations employ professionals in the field, are well-organized and have modern technological infrastructures, ensuring that work experience is substantial and constructive. The register is posted on the DepartmentĒs website, together with all the relevant instructions. In addition, the dates of informative meetings are posted every semester. Work experience takes place within the periods 1/4-31/9 and 1/10-31/3.
