Aims and Scope

The aim of the course is equip students with the necessary theoretical and practical background, for the implementation of the necessary calculations and the preparation of technical studies related to energy systems in buildings and industrial facilities. The aim is to give the student the necessary knowledge and experience to meet future professional requirements with parallel training for running typical studies via computer, using known professional software packages.

Course Description

Theory: Computing assets for the drawing up of projects electrical and heating systems, refrigeration, air-conditioning, photometry, fire extinguishing and, gaseous fuels, lifts and solar systems. Operating licenses. Environmental impacts. Energy saving techniques. Gas Installation planning for residential and industrial applications, piping calculations, dimensioning central units, control systems. Building Management Systems (BMS), description, wiring, control and monitoring units. Studies. Applications using computer.
Laboratory: The laboratory part includes exercises for drawing up formal studies using known professional software packages.

Expected Course Outcome

At the end of the course, students will be able to perform the necessary calculations and prepare standard technical studies related to electromechanical facilities.
