Dr. Mitsoudis Dimitrios

He joined the Department of Energy Technology Engineering as an Assistant Professor in June 2014. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece (1990), an M.Sc. in the Mathematics of Nonlinear Models from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, U.K. (1993), and a Ph.D. in the Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equations from the Dept. of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece (2003).

From September 2003 till August 2011 he worked as a Visiting Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Crete, from September 2011 till September 2013 he worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in Archimedes Center for Modeling, Analysis and Computation (ACMAC) in the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Crete, and from October 2013 till May 2014 he worked as an Associate Researcher in the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics (IACM) of the Foundation of Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH).

His research interests include modelling and numerical analysis of wave propagation phenomena, numerical methods for the Helmholtz equation, numerical methods for problems in unbounded domains, finite element methods for problems in underwater acoustics, and quasicontinuum methods for crystalline solids.
