Panteleimon Asvestas
Pantelis Asvestas was born in 1973. He got his Diploma in Engineering
from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the
National Technical University of Athens in 1996 and the title of Doctor
in Engineering from the same Department in 2001, on medical image
processing. From 2003 till today he has been working as an electrical
engineer, participating in R&D projects. From 2003 till 2006, he also
worked as technical consultant in Hygeia Hospital. On May 2008, he has
been appointed in the Department of Medical Instrumentation Technology.
His research interests cover the following fields:
- Classification of biosignals and medical images using artificial
intelligence.
- Image processing.
- Registration and fusion of medical data.
- 3D visualization of medical data.
- Biometrics.
- Real time video processing.
- Fractal analysis of images.
He has 21 papers in international scientific journals and 36 scientific
publications in book chapters, proceedings of international or national
congresses and national scientific magazines.
