CE661. Architecture (ects: 4) Architecture aims to introduce students to core values like ??human scale, function, form, design, construction, economy, respect for the environment etc. and the relationship between architectural form and the dipole functionality-safe construction. Additionally, it handles with basic principles of ergonomics and all issues corresponding to building and surrounding area, the design of a small residence included. After successful completion of this course, students will be able to: - Know the principles of architecture and understand how they can contribute to civil engineering. - Know the basic principles of ergonomics. - Perceive the essential requirements of a building program. - May assess the architectural solutions with functionality criteria and manufacturing capacities. - Be able to select and evaluate the best building materials in the context of architectural and construction needs.
