security of Europe and its citizens, Call: “Digital Security Focus Area”

Objective and description
New
topics have been opened for submission of proposals under the Horizon
2020 Programme within the pillar “Societal Challenges”, under the work
programme “Secure societies – Protecting freedom and security of Europe
and its citizens”, within the call for proposals “Digital Security Focus
Area”(call identifier: H2020-DS-2017).
The call for proposals refers to the following topics:
· DS-07-2017: Cybersecurity PPP: Addressing Advanced Cyber Security Threats and Threat Actors (IA Innovation action, RIA Research and Innovation action)
The
focus of the proposals should be on the development of novel approaches
for providing organisations the appropriate situational awareness in
relation to cyber security threats allowing them to detect and quickly
and effectively respond to sophisticated cyber-attacks.
· DS-08-2017: Cybersecurity PPP: Privacy, Data Protection, Digital Identities (IA Innovation action)
Proposals may cover one of the strands identified below:
o Privacy-enhancing Technologies (PET)
o General Data Protection Regulation in practice
o Secure digital identities
Eligible applicants
For both “RIA Research and Innovation actions” and “IA Innovation actions” the eligible partners are: At least three legal entities established in a different Member State or associated country. All three legal entities shall be independent of each other.
Budget
· For the topic DS-07-2017. The total budget is EUR 18 million (EUR 10 million for RIA and EUR 8 million for IA). The Commission considers that proposals requesting a contribution from the EU between EUR 2 and 3 million would allow this specific challenge to be addressed appropriately.
· For the topic DS-08-2017. The total budget is EUR 17,6 million. The Commission considers that proposals requesting a contribution from the EU between EUR 2 and 3 million would allow this specific challenge to be addressed appropriately.
Funding rates:
RIA Research and Innovation actions: 100%
IA Innovation actions: 70% (except for non-profit legal entities, where a rate of 100% applies)
Deadline for proposals’ submission
The deadline for all the topics is 24 August 2017, 17:00 (Brussels local time).
Applicants must submit their proposal electronically, following the link on the submission service.
