“Pilot project: smart eco-social villages” - 2017/S 062-115363
Objectives and description
The Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development has launched a call for tenders for the “Pilot project: smart eco-social villages” - 2017/S 062-115363.
The aim of the pilot project on smart eco-social villages is to explore the characteristics, drivers and factors of success of smart eco-social villages in the European Union in order to help the EU rural areas in current challenges and to improve their development.
The pilot project should:
· identify
a minimum number of ten successful best practices in rural areas which
have contributed to the successful development of these villages for the
benefit of their inhabitants.
· focus on practical solutions to overcome challenges and to improve the situation in villages.
· describe
the common features of some villages that are economically viable,
attractive for living, and environmentally sustainable.
· have a multi focus approach (agriculture, rural value chains, local infrastructure, rural-urban linkages, etc.).
· identifying conditions and practices favourable to promoting growth and jobs.
In
this context, the project shall describe the common features of some
villages that are economically viable, attractive for living, and
environmentally sustainable.
The preliminary conclusions of the pilot project should be presented and discussed with relevant stakeholders at a workshop.
Eligible participants - Minimum conditions
Natural and legal persons
from one of the EU Member States and all natural and legal persons in a
third country which has a special agreement with the European Union in
the field of public procurement on the conditions laid down in that
agreement.
Funding conditions and duration
The estimated total value is 400 000.00 EUR.
The duration of the contract is 16 months and is not subject to renewal.
Deadline of proposals' submission
The deadline for submission of tenders is 17 May 2017.
Tenders must be submitted:
- Either by post. In this case the postmark will be proof of compliance with the deadline.
- Or by Courier. In this case the deposit slip of the courier office will constitute proof of compliance with the deadline.
- Or by Hand Delivery.
In this case Proof of receipt, signed and dated by the official in the
central mail department who takes delivery will constitute proof of
compliance with the deadline.
