Horizon 2020 – Societal Challenges - “Rural Renaissance” –

H2020-RUR-2018-2020

 

Objective and description

New topics have been opened for submission of proposals under the Horizon 2020 Programme within the pillar “Societal Challenges”, under the work programme “Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine, maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy”, within the call for proposals “Rural Renaissance” – H2020-RUR-2018-2020.

 

The call for proposals refers to the following topics:

 

• CE-RUR-08-2018-2019-2020: Closing nutrient cycles (Research and Innovation action)
• DT-RUR-12-2018: ICT Innovation for agriculture – Digital Innovation Hubs for Agriculture (Innovation Action)
• RUR-01-2018-2019: Building modern rural policies on long-term visions and societal engagement (Coordination and Support Action)
• RUR-01-2018-2019: Building modern rural policies on long-term visions and societal engagement (Research and innovation Action)
• RUR-02-2018: Socio-economic impacts of digitisation of agriculture and rural areas (Research and Innovation Action)
• RUR-03-2018: Contracts for effective and lasting delivery of agri-environmental public goods (Research and Innovation Action)
• RUR-04-2018-2019: Analytical tools and models to support policies related to agriculture and food (Research and Innovation Action)
• RUR-09-2018: Realising the potential of regional and local bio-based economies (Coordination and Support Action)
• RUR-13-2018: Enabling the farm advisor community to prepare farmers for the digital age (Coordination and Support Action)
• RUR-14-2018: Digital solutions and e-tools to modernise the CAP (Innovation Action)
• RUR-15-2018-2019-2020: Thematic networks compiling knowledge ready for practice (Coordination  and Support Action)

 

Eligible applicants

The topics CE-RUR-08-2018-2019-2020, RUR-01-2018-2019, RUR-02-2018, RUR-03-2018, RUR-04-2018-2019,  refer to “Research and Innovation actions”. The topics DT-RUR-12-2018, RUR-14-2018 refer to “Innovation actions”. For both “Research and Innovation actions” as well as “Innovation actions” the eligible partners are: At least three legal entities established in a different Member State or associated country. All three legal entities shall be independent of each other.

 

The topics RUR-01-2018-2019, RUR-09-2018, RUR-15-2018-2019-2020, RUR-13-2018 refer to “Coordination and support actions”. For “Coordination and support actions”, the eligible partner could be at least one legal entity established in an EU Member State or Horizon 2020 associated country.

 

Budget

Funding rates:

RIA Research and Innovation actions: 100%.

IA Innovation actions: 70% (except for non-profit legal entities, where a rate of 100% applies).

CSA Coordination and support actions: 100%.

• DT-RUR-12-2018: ICT Innovation for agriculture – Digital Innovation Hubs for Agriculture

Innovation Action: 20,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-01-2018-2019: Building modern rural policies on long-term visions and societal engagement
  Coordination and Support Action: 5,000,000 EUR.
• RUR-01-2018-2019: Building modern rural policies on long-term visions and societal engagement

Research and innovation Action: 12,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-02-2018: Socio-economic impacts of digitisation of agriculture and rural areas

Research and Innovation Action: 5,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-03-2018: Contracts for effective and lasting delivery of agri-environmental public goods

Research and Innovation Action: 15,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-04-2018-2019: Analytical tools and models to support policies related to agriculture and food

Research and Innovation Action: 12,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-09-2018: Realising the potential of regional and local bio-based economies

Coordination and Support Action: 3,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-13-2018: Enabling the farm advisor community to prepare farmers for the digital age

Coordination and Support Action: 7,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-14-2018: Digital solutions and e-tools to modernise the CAP

Innovation Action: 5,000,000 EUR.

• RUR-15-2018-2019-2020: Thematic networks compiling knowledge ready for practice

Coordination  and Support Action: 12,426,739 EUR.

 

Deadline for proposals’ submission

The deadline for topics DT-RUR-12-2018, RUR-01-2018-2019(CSA), RUR-09-2018, RUR-13-2018, RUR-14-2018, RUR-15-2018-2019-2020 is 13 February 2018, 17:00 (Brussels local time).

 

The topics CE-RUR-08-2018-2019-2020, RUR-01-2018-2019 (RIA), RUR-02-2018, RUR-03-2018, RUR-04-2018-2019 have two-stage submission scheme. First deadline is 13 February 2018, 17:00 (Brussels local time). Second deadline for the proposals that passed the first-stage evaluation is 11 September 2018, 17:00 (Brussels local time).  

 

For two-stage submission schemes, you must submit a ‘short outline proposal’ for the first stage and you will be invited to submit your ‘full proposal’ for the second stage, if you pass the first-stage evaluation.
