Horizon 2020 – Societal Challenges – “Blue Growth” – H2020-BG-2018-2020
Objective and description
New
topics have been opened for submission of proposals under the Horizon
2020 Programme within the pillar “Societal Challenges”, under the work
programme “Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine,
maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy”, within the call
for proposals “Blue Growth” – H2020-BG-2018-2020.
The Blue Growth Call aims at sustainably
harvesting the potential of resources from seas, oceans and inland
waters for different uses and across the range of marine and maritime
industries, while protecting biodiversity and enhancing climate
resilience. It supports sustainable growth in the marine and maritime
sectors through a responsible management of marine resources for
healthy, productive, safe, secure and resilient seas and oceans, which
are essential for thriving ecosystems, climate regulation, global food
security, human health, livelihoods and economies.
The call for proposals refers to the following topics:
Eligible applicants
The topics BG-08-2018-2019, LC-BG-03-2018 refer to “Research and Innovation actions”. The topic DT-BG-04-2018-2019 refers to “Innovation Actions”. For both “Research and Innovation actions” as well as “Innovation Actions” the eligible partners are: At least three legal entities established in a different Member State or associated country. All three legal entities shall be independent of each other.
The topics BG-01-2018, BG-08-2018-2019 refer to “Coordination and support actions”. For “Coordination and support actions”, the eligible partner could be at least one legal entity established in an EU Member State or Horizon 2020 associated country.
The topic BG-02-2018 refers to “ERA-NET Cofund Actions”. For “ERA-NET Cofund Actions” the eligible partners are: at least three legal entities
established in a different EU Member State or Horizon 2020 associated
country. All three legal entities must be independent of each other.
Budget
Funding rates:
RIA Research and Innovation actions: 100%.
IA Innovation actions: 70% (except for non-profit legal entities, where a rate of 100% applies).
CSA Coordination and support actions: 100%.
ERA-NET-Cofund actions: 33%.
Coordination and Support Action: 2,500,000 EUR.
ERA-NET-Cofund: 8,000,000 EUR.
Coordination and Support Action: 4,000,000 EUR.
Research and Innovation Action: 33,000,000 EUR.
Innovation Action: 18,000,000 EUR.
Research and Innovation Action: 12,000,000 EUR.
Deadline for proposals’ submission
The deadline for topics BG-01-2018, BG-02-2018, BG-08-2018-2019(CSA), DT-BG-04-2018-2019 is 13 February 2018, 17:00 (Brussels local time).
The topics BG-08-2018-2019(RIA) and LC-BG-03-2018 have a two-stage deadline model. First deadline is 13 February 2018, 17:00 (Brussels local time). Second deadline for the proposals that passed the first-stage evaluation is 11 September 2018, 17:00 (Brussels local time).
For two-stage submission schemes,
you must submit a ‘short outline proposal’ for the first stage and you
will be invited to submit your ‘full proposal’ for the second stage, if
you pass the first-stage evaluation.
