Σπούδασε Φυσική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών (πτυχίο 1977). Είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού διπλώματς (1986) στη Βελτιστοποίηση Ενεργειακών Συστημάτων από το Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών.
Από το 1987 είναι καθηγήτρια στο Τμήμα Μηχανικών Ενεργειακής Τεχνoλογίας Τ.Ε. του ΤΕΙ Αθήνας και υπεύθυνη του εργαστηρίου Εφαρμοσμένης Πληροφορικής το οποίο διαθέτει τον εξυπηρετητή www.et.teiath.gr του τμήματος.
Εργάσθηκε για δύο συνεχή έτη στον τομέα ερευνών στην Ελληνική Αεροπορική Βιομηχανία. Στη διάρκεια των δύο ετών μετείχε σε μετεκπαιδεύσεις στα ερευνητικά κέντρα της MBB στη Γερμανία και στην Pratt & Whitney στην Αμερική. Εργάσθηκε για ένα χρόνο στο ερευνητικό κέντρο του C.N.R.S, L.A.A.S (Laboratoire d’ Aytomatique et Analyse des Systems) στη Τουλούζη της Γαλλίας. Από το 1983 συνεργάζεται ερευνητικά με το τμήμα Πληροφορικής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Από το 1986 είναι επιστημονική υπεύθυνη ή συμμετέχει σε 15 ερευνητικά προγράμματα της Ευρωπαϊκής Ενωσης (Altener, Save Leonardo), και του ΙΤΥ.
Μέλος της Ένωσης Ελλήνων Φυσικών. Μέλος της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Επιστημόνων Η/Υ και Πληροφορικής (ΕΠΥ). Μέλος της Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE).
Οργανώτρια ημερίδων «Εξοικονόμηση Ενέργειας» στο Τ.Ε.Ι. και «Multimedia στην Εκπαίδευση» με έκδοση πρακτικών. Συντονίστρια και επιστημονική υπεύθυνη για τη συγγραφή εκπαιδευτικού λογισμικού σε CD για τη Φυσική (2), για τις ανανεώσιμες πηγές ενέργειας και για τη διαχείριση Ενέργειας.
Έχει εκπονήσει μελέτες και δημοσίευσε ερευνητικές εργασίες και άρθρα σε γνωστικά αντικείμενα όπως:
-  Προσομοίωση και Βελτιστοποίηση συστημάτων. Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη
-  Νοήμονα Εκπαιδευτικά Προγράμματα. Μαθησιακά Περιβάλλοντα με αλληλεπίδραση.
-  Σχεδίαση και υλοποίηση Εκπαιδευτικού λογισμικού.
