Program of
Postgraduate Studies in “Laboratory and Clinical Nursing Cardiology”
The Medical School of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with
Departments of Public Health and Community Health (former Department of Public
Hygiene) and Nursing of Technological Educational Institute of Athens have organized and run a postgraduate course with title:
“Laboratory and Clinical Nursing Cardiology” since the academic year 2006-07.
Objectives of the course
The aim of the course is the education, promotion of knowledge and research
in Laboratory and Clinical Nursing Cardiology. More specifically the objective of the
course is to educate and specialize new scientists
in the broad and expanding area of Cardiological Nursing.
Graduates of this program can:
- Staff Cardiac Departments in
the public and private sector.
- Support and maintain Clinical Nursing Cardiology and
research.
- Teach in nursing departments.
- Work in relevant
administrative posts.
- Work in areas that demand a
high level of expertise and knowledge in the field.
Postgraduate title
The
postgraduate course leads to the award of a postgraduate degree in “Laboratory
and Clinical Nursing Cardiology”.In this postgraduate program, the following categories of graduates are
accepted, if they comply with the necessary requirements:
- Graduates of Nursing from national
Universities.
- Graduates of Nursing from
national TEIs according to article 12 of the 2916/2001 Law.
- Graduates of equal departments
of overseas accredited Educational Institutions.
Every postgraduate student on completion of the
postgraduate course on “Laboratory and Clinical Nursing Cardiology” can
continue at Doctoral level studies. Degrees are awarded by the Medical
School of the University of Athens.
