AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
The course aims to give the students knowledge of textile design methods, applying isolation techniques with liquid and solid media. Traditional and modern Batik and tsap. Application of theoretical knowledge in traditional weaving methodologies and modern electronic looms.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Modern textile materials and fabrics. Artistic, craft and industrial production of woven textiles and their applications. The artistic expression and creation through thread and fabric, 2D, 3D textile artworks. The artistic expression and creation with the isolation technique of Batik and tsap, using liquid and solid insulators, 2D, 3D textile artworks. The Greek traditional loom. Felt and felting. 2D, 3D textile artworks.
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in relation to traditional and modern textile design methodology and applications.
